Running Runway here instead

We run Runway too, without a monthly plan. New accounts get 30 credits free with no card, and a 5-second Runway clip costs 6 of them — enough for five clips before you decide anything. Paid plans here start at $9.9/month, and the same account also runs Veo 3, Kling and ByteDance V1 Pro, so you are not subscribing to each one separately.

On this site: 6 credits per generation, against 30 free credits on sign-up.

Questions

Does Runway have a free plan?

Yes, but it is a one-time deposit of 125 credits rather than a monthly allowance, and output carries a watermark. Runway states the free credits do not expire.

Do Runway credits roll over?

On Standard and Pro they do not — Runway resets them within 24 hours of your billing date. On Max, up to one month of unused credits rolls over. Credits you buy on top never expire.

How many videos is 625 credits?

Runway prices Gen-4.5 at 60 credits per 5 seconds, so 625 credits is about ten 5-second Gen-4.5 clips, or roughly twenty on Gen-4 Turbo. Cheaper and pricier models shift that number a lot.

Is there a way to use Runway without a monthly subscription?

You can run Runway here on credits instead of a plan. Sign-up gives you 30 credits and no card is asked for; a 5-second clip costs 6. That is not cheaper per clip than Runway's own API — we buy access like everyone else — but there is no monthly commitment and one account covers several models.
