What's new in Nano Banana 2.1

Better image quality

Google says visual quality and realism improve at all three output sizes, 1K, 2K and 4K.

Follows prompts more closely

Better prompt adherence: more of what you describe ends up in the picture, in the place you asked for.

Same character across edits

Multi-turn character consistency: a person or product stays recognizable as you keep editing in follow-up messages.

Cleaner text in images

Improved text rendering and infographic layouts, for posters, labels and diagrams.

Panoramas without seams

Wide and tall panoramas (up to 8:1 and 1:8) at 2K and 4K, without the tiling artifacts earlier versions could show.

What's the difference between Nano Banana 2 and 2.1?

As announced by Google: sharper, more realistic images, closer prompt following, characters that stay consistent across edits, cleaner text and infographics, mask-based editing, and wide panoramas (1:4, 4:1, 1:8, 8:1) at 2K and 4K without tiling artifacts.

Where else can I try Nano Banana 2.1?

Google is rolling it out in the Gemini app, AI Mode in Google Search (the banana icon under the search box in the Google app), Google AI Studio and Flow. Developers can call it through the Gemini API.

How much will it cost here?

We'll price it from our provider's rate once it opens, like every other model. Nano Banana 2 costs 4 credits per image here, and failed images cost nothing.

Can I turn the images into videos?
